Embrace a New Way of Being

psychotherapy in San diego to feel more connected, find more peace, and cultivate your authentic self

“The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction, not a destination.”
~ Carl Rogers

Change can be hard. And sometimes the changes we want to make aren’t even clear to us – we just know something needs to change.

I know you’re here looking for some help – maybe it’s help with your relationships, finding better ways to communicate, confronting anxiety, or just overall improving your general outlook or mood.

I offer online therapy in San Diego and throughout California for anyone in late adolescence through adulthood. Together we can explore a new path forward.

Please reach out to schedule a brief phone consultation where we can chat more about what you’re looking for and how I can help.

Some symptoms I work with:

  • Anxiety and rumination
  • Depressed mood
  • High sensitivity
  • Harsh inner critic
  • Difficulty setting appropriate boundaries
  • People-pleasing
  • Relationships challenges (can be any relationship – professional, personal, romantic)
  • Lack confidence and self-trust
  • Indecision
  • Strong emotional reactions
  • Feeling stuck

What Can I Expect From Therapy?

Laptop on the desk in front of a window with a plant. Ready for therapy with Nina Tomkiewicz, LCSW in San Diego, CA

Therapy is an engaged process in which you will have focused time to explore your inner world with a compassionate, curious and knowledgable guide. Although we all have active external lives, we also have inner experiences that inform our mood, relationship dynamics and how we perceive our life to actually be. And we don’t always share or reveal these internal workings of our mind – we just have them ping-ponging around in our head and sometimes they are the cause of a lot of anxiety, depression, guilt or stuckness.

Therapy is a place to slow down and take a look “under the hood,” so to speak. Therapy is a resource to help you process difficult situations and find new solutions. I see my role as a therapist like a nature guide, and we are both walking around in the wilderness together, figuring out the next best path that brings you to a little more ease, a little more freedom, a little more happiness.
